Welcome to BroadbandNext
BroadbandNext is a new broadband initiative by EFTel that will give Australians access to the fastest DSL internet speeds ever experienced.
In an effort to bring forward the next stage in super fast broadband technology, EFTel will be systematically upgrading exchanges across Australia in order to bring BroadbandNext to homes and businesses across the country.
BroadbandNext will be built on MSAN (Multi-service access node) technology which is a leap ahead of the traditional DSLAM Broadband technology being rolled out by most providers. MSANs have superior upgradeability, scalability, redundancy and environmental sustainability.
BroadbandNext, which is owned by EFTel Ltd, will be providing services through EFTel's flagship retail and corporate arm along with services to a number of ISPs including aaNET and through the wholesale division of EFTel Ltd, DFT Wholesale.
Key BroadbandNext Developments
Eftel is excited to announce phase 2 of the BroadbandNext network through our partnership with NEXTEP, a division of NEC Australia Pty Ltd. This partnership seeks to consolidate and build upon EFTel’s initial BroadbandNext successes by providing exclusive access to NEXTEP’s MPORT DLSAM infrastructure in 80 telephone exchanges across Australia.
ASX announcement - Major Expansion of BroadbandNext Network - 17/11/2008
With 60 BroadbandNext MSAN exchanges now online and the pending completion of a further 10 MSAN exchanges, the NEXTEP partnership will provide EFTel with exclusive access to another 55 exchanges. This will result in BroadbandNext becoming Australia’s sixth largest Broadband network, covering 125 exchanges Australia wide. For a full list of these exchanges please follow the link below:

What does this mean?
In the coming weeks EFTel will commence using existing backhaul links to offer ADSL1 services in NEXTEP exchanges. ADSL2+ services will also be enabled in select NEXTEP exchanges following the systematic investigation and upgrade of the existing backhaul links.
Please register your interest in future ADSL2+ services in these NEXTEP exchanges.
By rolling out BroadbandNext, EFTel is taking the first step towards building a better broadband network for all Australians.
